If Mary Estelle Hanna Had lived

If Mary Estelle Hanna had lived
She would have found her freedom
On the run she was
from her past....from her pain
If she had lived, the demons
she would have slayed
And she would have lived
herself grandly

If we asked her now what she would do
if given just one more day
She would tell us she would
feel the sun
and hear the birds
and she would smell the fruit
at the farmer's market before she
placed it in her basket
She would smile at strangers more
"The little things"
She would tell us
"matter most"

She would tell us to be open
and real
To love when we want
and who we want
fully and fiercely
She would tell us to risk
others knowing who we truly are
She would tell us to celebrate
our uniqueness
and honor our differences
Because in the end
we finally see, feel, hear and KNOW

there are no differences

If Mary Estelle Hanna had lived
she would have shown us
how to live real and free
We may have seen her on the sliver screen
Cuz, you know, she always wanted to be a movie
star...
She would have been
herself grandly

How bout you?
How's this life going for you?
Are you yourself
Grandly?

Mary would want that for you

You can learn a lot from a dead
fictitious character....
Cuz, in the end
Real and conjured up are
one in the same
