Be gone

ice and 

snow

My mama

needs to warm and stretch

Be gone

bitter wind

cutting across her land

Let her thaw

and open

Be gone 

melt and freeze

Let her rivers flow

Let the rapids rage

Let the raptors return

Awake, mama earth

Winter has run its course

The blanket of white removed

as the sun warms away the cold

in our hearts

Be on your way..

chill long standing

Enter the warmth

of Spring

New life pushes against the soil

and must grow
