Harmony Green's blog! This blog highlights the music and poetic, liquid lyrics of Dan Fogelberg. I listen to a shuffled song on my iPod and write an inspired piece from that. The song is listed under 'labels' at the bottom of each entry. Enjoy!

Golden Affliction
Relentless struggle
Cravin the gold
Needing more, wanting
all
The addiction.......
The affliction of
lack
Greed and gratitude in the same bed
do not rest
One lives in lust, the other
love
In the shadow of greed
nothing grows
Lusting after the
tangible tasty golden
granule
Killing, saving, panning
dying
Some prosper for all their
trying
Others are trampled in the
turmoil
Never to want or need
or crave or live
again
Casualties of greed
Murderers of grace and
gratitude
Dead as the promise
of fame and
fortune
Saddest truth?
In the hands of these
greed laden
hate mongers....
Was already what they sought
Already what they had lusted after
Already what they had
stolen
The land, the sky, the meadows
the springs
Golden glory in the palm
of their five fingered
hands
They never knew they
possessed such
gilded gifts
And so the cycle of greed
continued
As it does to this day
Look around you
Have you found your
fortune......
intangible
Let gratitude live today
Be grateful for the
moments gilded
and golden
Relentless struggle
Cravin the gold
Needing more, wanting
all
The addiction....
The affliction of
lack
Greed and gratitude in the same bed
do not rest
One lives in lust, the other
in love
In the shadow of greed
nothing grows
