The Lift and the Sway

He was the son of the
sea
Re-birthed in the rise and
fall of the
waves he was swaddled
within
Safe and sound with his
mama ocean

The lift and the sway
The coastline sending him
off
And holding the scared space
for
his star streamed return
The freedom of being alone
or with his closest
of kin
The kin of his heart
The kin of his brain...his
body
Those he trusted in this world
often harsh

He was the son of the
sea
Reborn in the rise and
fall of the
waves he was swaddled
within
Safe and sound with his
mama ocean

He.... the scion of the sea
Her progeny
Her boy, her man, her
kindred spirit
Her soul mate birthed
on the waves
over and over again

In the lift and the sway
His first bath, the ocean's
salty spray
Sea Captain born today
Here, within the liquid womb where
he
belonged only
to her and himself
And those
he
chose
To take to meet her

He was the son of the
sea
Revived in the rise and
fall of the
waves he was swaddled
within
Safe and sound with his
mama ocean
"Meet my friends, mama"

Rest in the waves, now
Captain, Man
Thank you for your journey
Your purpose
For all your parts and all
your plans

We humbly thank you
In the collective lift and sway
of our hearts
beating in united
gratitude
today
