Faeries dance across the midnight sky
She sees the purple spark of them in the periphery of her eyes
Her heart dance has dulled somehow
Where is the spark when she gazes at him now
Sparks of green and gold escape their grasp
They lit her life for so long...she believed they would last
She yearned for the touch he gave so easily at the innocent start
Now at the painful end she shall miss the beat of his savage heart
The faeries do not dance tonight
Magic comes and as quickly is gone....as it disappears
We become you and me...no more us...just fairy tale tears
The prince does not stay after waking the slumbered princess
In her salty sadness she calls to him...as he is taken away in the process
Innocence lost.....burned up in the beauty of a moment fleeting
The prince now busy slaying his deep demons as they fall around him..bleeding
Led to the rescue.....deep into the fires raging...the flames leaping
There was no assurance of happily ever after...there were no promises for the keeping
As he rides away on his mount...dressed in royal garb celebrated
She stares into the space his absence has created
Never again shall her prince be here....no more do faeries dance in the sky
The princess is left with the memory of the wild waking..asking why
