Easily Scattered

Forget the promises you made to the rest of us
The ones that were lies spoken in poetic flow
My truth, my reality seem to be your nemesis
Your words, empty as the thought bubbles you blow
Into the wind as they are easily scattered
Like dandelion seeds invading a manicured lawn
Spreading your manure is all that matters
Batting your eyes in the mirror like an innocent fawn

The insidious roots prey upon the beauty
You might fool the masses, but you don't fool me

Make a promise of truth to yourself today
To pay attention to the life you have made
You waste your time attempting to hinder my way
I'm already gone, I don't get off on friendships betrayed
