Wishing on your Wax and Wane

How many times
How many dress
rehearsals
How many crimes
How many empty
dispersals
Of the truth
Growing in a garden of
fears from your
youth

How many years
will you run
away
Awaiting that fateful
far off
day
When you begin to
walk towards
Opening those long locked and
lonely
doors
Towards a life that you
want for you
No one else telling you what to
do
How many no-s till you tell
yourself
YES!!
How much longer will you court
distress

Wishing on your wax and
wane
Reliving all that long dead
pain
How many lies pave your
path beaten
How much longer will you be
cheatin
Death and all that this
implies
Desperately waiting to
grandly rise
Till the day you are full again
Till another cycle in
flux begins
How many roads till you
walk a new one
How many times burned
by the sun

The cycle can end or continue with
you
No one telling you what to
do
Wishing on your wax and
wane
Pick a new path, take the
long lane
home
