Orchestral soul song rises
Ballet begins
He lifts her into the waiting air between them
and holds her there, motionless...beautifully still
Breaking the silence...he slides her down his body....slowly
Seductively
The audience takes in a collective heavy breath
Releasing it as he releases her
She spins away as they watch with great anticiaption
Eyes fixed on her perfect flowing form
And as she turns to greet his gaze
She finds him not.....he has disappeared
Searching the stage, her eyes do not rest upon his
Waiting in the wings, he is.. perhaps
He has changed the cadence of the deep dance they knew
He has flown away
And now the stage will grace their union no more
The dance is done
The audience retreats
The orchestra now only strings silenced....suddenly
The spotlight no longer lights their way
Left without her partner..she gives in to her only real choice
Her heart has said goodbye to him
tonight
