Caught in the Crossfire

These days.....
I find myself
lost
Eternally high
Yet my internal tide....
at low ebb
Turning to the right
Needing to go
left
Craving less
Seeking more
These days
I am caught in the
crossfire

Stalled
or
Super charged
Introspective
or
Outer spaced
Pensive
or
Proactive
Lonely
in a sea of
souls
Or drowning in the
noise of
over connection

Caught in the
Crossfire
of
what I have allowed
and what I must
disallow
The push and the
pull
The rite of passage
and the
wrong ways passed
by

Soon, I will call for a
cease fire
Or, perhaps, I must die
to the old ways
and allow my rebirth
Let the silver bullets render
me dead
In the remains of the
me I was
The me I am morphing into
shall rise

No longer caught in the
crossfire of the feuding crowds
But, risen above the
war of souls
High and steady at
full tide
Riding the waves....alone
Never lonely
Satisfied with my
self
And just like that
I shall be free

Cease fire.....
The end of a 52 year
war
The soldier returns home
to
her
self

Lay Down The Sword

http://www.twistedrootstudios.com

Constant battle...
your life?
Constant consternation
Constant strife
Suited up in your armor
Ready with your sword
Fighting becomes a nasty habit
Wielding the weapon of your own
accord

Running in circles aimlessly
round, round and round
Dizzy from the spin
Looking for a slaughter fix
to get through this life
painlessly

The forged metal of your malice
gets heavy in your grasp
Defending your standards
your fears, your ancestor's beliefs
Being the leader, the winner of the bread
Till you no longer know those living
in your palace

While you were out there fighting
You forgot to notice
The cause of self denial
ain't so hip no more
Forgetting you in the flow of
life
does not make your journey
enlightening

These days....it's apropos
to take care of you
So you can be the person
others need you to be
Put down your weapon
Spend time in quiet solitude
Let your inner self tell you
what you need
to know

The fight is over, friend
Release your grasp
on the bejeweled hilt
Lay down the sword
Soon you'll see there is
an answer inside
of you
Lay your weapon down
Let the battles end

Cut, Carrot, Calamity

Cut my loses...love lies broken
Dangled like a carrot...the words never spoken
So much pressure atop us in the midst of the blended energy
Cut, Carrot and Calamity
Cut up pieces of our connection
Julienned into a Cole Slaw of rejection
Harvested and peeled...the nourishment withheld from me
Cut, Carrot and Calamity
Living in the soil Gaia provided for us
A garden grown in the compost of dying trust
These days our love lies disassembled... cut into for all eternity
Cut, Carrot and Calamity
Little people cut out of paper mache'
No more is the carrot dangled in the light of day
But the pressure formed a jewel in the dark soil.. you see
Cut, Carrot and Calamity
As I pick up the pieces of our brilliant diamond love off the floor
I know I would have done it the same...if time were gifted to us more
Today I allow the carrot and its knowledge to feed me
It's healed now....Cut, Carrot and Calamity
I wish you much forward vision as our diamond lies in pieces
May you find self connection when the pain finally ceases
The jewel we created is new life born of you and me
Transformed in the diamond's compressed shine: Cut, Carat and Clarity

Here and Now

A soldier he was, alone..or so he thought
Content to live fighting the battles that he fought
for others
He needs to assist those that need help..here and now

She knew she would be his hand to hold
Finally allowing peace in his heart so bold
She would be the one to guide him
To his own needs..here and now

He grew too quick and wanted to run away
She gave him the space he requested...hoping he would stay
Stay, he did
He was brave and real and wanting to be held...here and now

Hold him she did, and he learned to hold her too
Funny, he thought, as he realized all that she knew
He also knew inside himself
They knew each other here and now

Soldiers led to the same place on a path
A place they had been in the past
Perhaps they mastered love last time
And share it again here and now

Or perhaps their love was whisked away suddenly
In a life they they shared with the rolling sea
This time they are allowing it
To grow here and now

These days are becoming brighter
and souls once heavy are lighter
Illuminated in the truth
That they are living life joined here and now

My Last Day

If today were my last day here in this life
I would tell you that I love you
I would want to know your laughter
I would want to see your eyes
I would want you to know you matter

If today was my last day on the planet
I would listen to the silence
surrounding me, I would know it fully
I would eat the foods I wanted to eat
I would be friendly to all I encountered

If today were my last day here as Harmony Green
I would take a walk and feel the sun
I would hold you so tightly and whisper in your ear
I would say Thank You for being here with me
this time around

If today were my last day here
November 29th, 2012
I would live it like my last day
I would love it like my last day
I would be more alive then I have ever been

We never know when our last day is delivered

So....
I hope you know I love you
I hope you know you matter
I hope you feel me holding you
I hope you hear me whisper in your ear...

"Thank You for being here with me this time around"

Outnumbered or Ahead of the Curve?

Do you find yourself outnumbered often? Do you feel like others don't get you, are not on the same page ?
We sometimes we think we must change then, to fit in with these other people. I have found the opposite to be true.
If children knew that "being ahead of the curve" could be a good thing, we would have far more brilliant and secure, confident adults in this world. I wish I had learned to embrace this quality about myself in my youth.

In my practice as a Spiritual Doula and Intuitive Healer, I have, countless times, put an idea or a class or a concept out into the world before others know they need it. Really, when you process this you, you understand, that's what being an intuitive is all about....knowing what you need to do, or others who seek counsel with you are hoping to discover. "What should I do"? is the motto of many I see. Often, they are upset when i don't tell them what to do, but rather, assist them in uncovering the answers they already carry. I help them get ahead of their own curve you could say and outnumber the voices in their heads that tell them this is not true. We really are our own Sage.

My point, if I do indeed have one,(I am wondering too!) is to say, simply BE WHO YOU ARE! Spending time, energy and money to be someone else never works.....at the end of the day..............there you are, so DEAL WITH IT !

You are not outnumbered, but in fact, unique! I honor the uniqueness in you......won't you join me?

All about the Journey......

These songs make me think of the journey Joe and I embarked upon our way back to Minnesota from California. We had moved to Northern California, San Francisco, actually to begin a new life. Our plans were short lived, though, and we were called back to Minnesota. The pain we felt about this unseen cog in the wheel that was our lives, was very difficult to release and transform. However, I realize today that we have actually done just that.....transformed the pain into a new future.

We have now been back here longer than we were gone. May 8th will mark 3 years since we returned to the place we had left in our rear view mirrors.
It has taken a long time, but we have healed from the experience of "impossible odds" we found ourselves held  against, and we have created a newer, refreshed life here this time around.

In the midst of a crisis, we only see what is in our sites to see. Our vision is narrowed by fear, anguish and frustration, often sadness.
I am thankful our sight has expanded, and we clearly see that home is not where you live, but who you live with. It is the people you love and the others you encounter along the way, the experiences you cherish and those you that would rather soon forget that pave the road home, no matter where you find yourself. Life is about living, and we certainly did that!

On our trip home again to the North, we stopped in Aspen and I played these songs as we drove into the city limits. Back then, I had no idea how important Dan's music was to become to the writing practice I was struggling to achieve. Danspirations were not yet in my field of inner vision......Peoria 2010 was the event that sparked this collaboration I so greatly welcome as a part of my everyday life now.

I could feel Dan there, in CO; in the very stone and ridges of the mountains that looked like they were formed by Giants pushing against them. I could imagine his misty breath in the cool, crisp air; and sense his joy at the Natural Beauty that surrounded us as we stood entranced at the view.

Little did I know I was heading back to a deeper, stronger connection to him, a very comforting reunion with my family, and my future awareness of the DanFam that was soon to be formed. What is in our sites to see NOW is endless possibilities, and limitless potential.......and we found these hidden treasures with a journey that began when we left CA in our rear view mirrors. Sigh.......
