memories meeting

Singing with the soil and stone
Today
I am takin' the long way
home

Heartache, head aches
Healing now
You, my dear, have taught me how

To honor what seemed to be mistakes

It was never
a wrong way
Taking the long way
Only enhanced our endeavor

Enjoy the long way as the road winds
Through the valleys, over the hills
Past the place where our iron wills
Bring us back to our memories..... intertwined

We went long
We went real
Penned in peace..... we reveal
the lyrics of our own song

The truth..... we loved and lived
in ways pure
Of this we are certainly sure
We have healed, we forgive

Out here, in the winding and the wander
are 2 humbled souls
Etched......upon our heart's ancient scrolls
Are memories meeting on the way, longer

I remember

http://www.twistedrootstudios.com

memories
movies of our minds
replay
remind
reemerge
recapturing
moments
pleasant or painful
memories
remember you, I do

remember me, I do too
alive
awake
aware
appreciative
accepting
allowing
memories
remember, I do

forgetting....I'd rather not
releasing
revamping
realigning
reconstructing
realizing
reevaluating
rejoicing
memories

I remember

Takin the Long Way Home

She took the long way home that day
stopping to smell the flowers
She sat upon the fragrant mossy boulders
down by the riverside

She listened to the wind and heard her name
whispered within the breezes
She watched the birds in flight
They, alighting on branches to watch her

She was a part of this place
she was nature as well
We are all natural
We are all connected

He was there too, yet unseen
In some undeniable way
she had felt him there
for so long already

Till the day he finds his way
to her by the river
She'll be takin' the long way home
now and again

Just to see when he gets there

All who wander.......for Doris and Amy

Have you ever been brought into a heart instantly? Have you felt the love of another human flood over you just because they decided to love you? Well, I have...... White Ash and I experienced that last year in Peoria!

We had settled into our room and decided to go down to the restaurant and get a little dinner. After talking to our guys back at home, we had a really nice meal. The whole time we were eating, my attention was drawn to two women sitting near us. I wondered if they were DanFans too, and before we left our table, I summoned the courage to intrude upon their privacy and ask them. It was Doris and Amy, sweet and pure and radiating the love we all carry innately in our souls. I can not recall the exact conversation, but I knew we were connecting to similar souls, similar hearts and two beautiful ladies. Throughout the weekend, we remained at each others sides and became fast friends.

The wandering minstrel souls of forever friends find themselves connected exactly when and where they need to. It happened to the 4 of us that weekend and has multiplied a million times over since we have all embraced  in a family group hug!

All who wander are not lost. In fact, they are found just at the perfect moment.

Amy and Doris, I will  forever be grateful that our souls met!
It may seem like the long way, but I would do it over exactly this way again!

Losing and Winning all at the same time?

Even losing men can win.
How true and poignant! Do you realize that in the losing you can win?
That in the making of mistakes you can actually learn to make the right decisions the next time?
Maybe it's the wrong way, but you may never know until you try, until you head off in a direction that you feel led and test the waters.

I love how Dan speaks about how he and his love went the long way, tasting all that came with that process. Learning painful and joyful lessons along this long way they were traveling together. He realizes as he closes the song, that even though things did not work out for them, that if they should try again one day.....they would repeat the process of "going the long way". That the pain was worth it, the joy was accepted, and they wouldn't do it any other way.

I challenge you to look back at a situation in your past where you went the long way and spend some time honoring this experience.
Ask yourself these questions....
1. What was painful?
2, What did the pain teach me?
3. How have I learned to release the pain?
4. Have I released the pain?
5. What joy did I experience?
6. What did that teach me?
7. Do I allow joy in my life now?
8. How do I continue to allow joy and share that joy with others?

Use this as a meditative practice, and see if you can make peace with your past and connect it your present walk so you can create the future you want!
