Me.....Tree

Rooted deep down within the moist and pungent
dermis of Goddess Gaia
My life lines stretching, searching
Tendrils of my time here
Blissfully blinded at first
Eyes forced wide open in the tumble of life
In the bitter realities of such an unreal
place
Yet, my roots reach and dive to depths
untouched by time or tumbles
My mama's heart beat pulsing also through
my own veins
Her resounding lub dub, lub dub, lub dub
my waking song, and my lullaby
The sacred soil nourishes my branches
Welcoming the birth of the long gestating
green glory
My leaves sway
in the breathy breezes of a
slow summer day
Me.....Tree
She....We....Rooted

As the Trees

Quiet here, with the trees
Listen real close, you can hear the bees
Dropping in as unannounced house guests
to politely pollinate
As the Summer they gently germinate
The early sunshine aromas seduce my senses
I let go all my defenses
and become
Quiet as the trees, here

Still.......

http://www.twistedrootstudios.com

Take my sight
I still see
Take my plight
I walk free

Take my money
I am still rich
Take my life
My dying muscles twitch

The vibration
is all that has changed
The molecules
slightly rearranged

I still am here
vibrating
me
Still

Silence vibrates
deeper than any word
In the peace of the stillness
I am grandly heard

I am always there....
me
Vibrating in the
stillness... one with the trees

The Trees

http://www.twistedrootstudios.com

Meters of life's progression
the Trees
The ones who watch and stand
guard, still and stubborn
Constant against wind, rain, sun
and the frozen tundra of Gaia's
Wintered slumber
They stand tall...towering
always?

Some are dying
Some are in great pain
Right before our very eyes
Our human designer shade
clad eyes
are shaded to the brutal truth
What do we do to assist the
ones who stand tall
Towering?

How sad when Evergreens
shall never again
be Green
Turning brown and brittle in the sun and rain
Unable to take the nourishment...
dying
As we stand by, small and
helpless at their death bed...watching
the demise

Let us care about the trees
Givers of oxygen
Givers of our very essential sustenance
The ones we climbed as children
Sitting in the naked nooks of
those limbs outstretched
Solving the problems of our own
little lives
The ones who shade us
when the long deep, hot day has
beaten us down

The trees are dying
It tears at my human heart
It
brings tears to my human eyes
My shades are off...allowing for the frenzied flow
down my cheeks
My passion has been pierced
The salt of my tears burning the
wound...soon to be a
scar

I ache to know
What to do...how do I help?

The trees
They still tower
but...for how long?

Pages of Her Story

http://www.twistedrootstudios.com

Held with love within the grove of trees

As they sway and sing in the deep summer breeze

She turns and heads in the direction she had come from

Entranced by the colors strewn across the sky in the setting sun

Healed is her sorrow, it lives within her no longer

This last battle of the heart has only made her stronger

Still she releases the memories, magical but few

They live in the chambers of her heart….blended like the sunset in many hues

As she walks she leaves pieces of the past along this woodland path

She prepares for the journey laid out ahead …..her hand loosening its grasp

On what had been, focus now on what will be

Horizon of the newness greets her daily….ahead, her destiny

She sets her compass west, into the setting glorious fire orb

Pinks and purples and deep awareness present now for her soul to absorb

She left these pages of her story amongst the grove of grateful hickory trees

They will guard them for her as they hold and preserve these precious memories

As We Live

Redwood roots connect
Forming a network like Celtic knots
Throughout their
Forest home

Towering totems
held up by shallow roots
melded and intertwined
The grove lives in the truth of  unity

Strong against wind
Swaying in unison....teetering
squeaking as they sing and sway...
Connected life flowing between them

Let us be like the mighty Redwoods
Connected and strong together
We are the grove, we sway and sing
One alone, two-gether, three melded....
Four as long as the world gives us

A redwood grove knows no time
Or day, or deadlines
A redwood grove lives as we live
Connected

Blow Us Back

A country divided
divided we stand
so close to a
f
a
l
l

We
fall
We
tumble
We
crumble

Blinded by the plight
running alone
so alone we
fall

You
fall
You
tumble
You
crumble

Life in ruins
or riches
As the middle class
falls

And the poor
die in alleys all alone
cuz the system
fails

We
fall
We
tumble
We
crumble

Time separates us
dividing us further
as we once again
fall

Who picks us up?
How can we be so blind
For my plight is also yours
right?

As a country founded on heinous pride and pillage
goes to the poles once again
today
All I want to do is
fall
on my knees and
stay
there
soon enough we will all be there
on the ground
crumbled

I feel the fall
and the fail
Now
it moves me to rise
and speak my truth
today
Once again with my
mighty pen
I will cast my vote
to the wind

One day I know the wind will blow
us back to unity

Today I vote for the continued rise
the cycle of the fall is old news....
redundant
today we
rise
We don't have much time

WE RISE
WE PICK UP
WE REPAIR
WE CARE
WE FIX
WE UNITE

Blind Eyes?

Have you ever thought of seeing with your eyes closed? Do you know that your vision can play tricks and allow you to see things that are not really there?  Perhaps you see a person and you assume they are thinking something, are afraid of something, perhaps they just look wrong to you. Instantly, your mind makes assumptions and a first impression is formed.

Try viewing your world through closed eyes. Your other senses will become more acute. You will hear what people are saying and be aware of tonal changes in their voice. How often do you hear a person before your eyes have a chance to receive a first impression? How does that person smell, what sounds do they make as they walk.....how does their laugh sound? What kind of energy do they possess?

See your world today through closed eyes, fully utilize  your other senses and your third eye. Allow yourself to experience the world in a new way and you just may discover a new world!

Slow down and reflect

Running through the years....

As I sit here writing, listening and reminiscing, I am reminded that life is very much a cycle, a circle, a never ending process that transports us, challenges us and heals us.... if we allow it.

Looking backwards now and again and taking time to welcome the opportunity to do this is essential, really, to our growth. As we move forward, often times in what feels like quicksand, we can return to times when we moved easily or when a similar trial brought us to great revelations.

I have not fully ascertained the purpose of pain in our lives, but I do know that as humans obsessed with superlatives, we need the bad and the ugly to even begin to appreciate the good. In this truth is the reality that we learn to accept, allow and truly cherish the good times in life. The good times.....the birth of our kids, the laugh shared between friends, the hugs offered and received when we need them. Think about this....do you offer hugs in peaceful times as well as times of turmoil? Do you give to yourself as well as to others? Many times , we pay more attention to the preventive maintenance of our cars than the maintenance of ourselves, our souls and our energies.

In the reflective spaces of my soul today, I can acknowledge pain as a formidable teacher, guide and awareness builder. Some day, I hope to return to a place where pain is not necessary, but for right now, I honor its place in my life. Today I can truly own this.
