Treacherous downhill ride

You seek the slip and slide

Plummeting down the slippery slope

Shot out of the cannon of hope

Hold on, baby, here comes the edge

You may as well be jumping off a ledge

Slope.....slippery and so slick

All this frozen emotion makin' me sick

You seek the thrill of adrenaline

Just about the time I need to go still again

It's cool, we roll in ways dissimilar

We are who we are, ain't nothin criminal

I'll be here, deep in the black darkness of meditation

You'll be high in the white starkness of elevation
Soon to sing dirges to our love's death
Yet, it hangs suspended... flash frozen as winter's breath
 

Perhaps one day, we will meet in the elusive middle

We may, one day, solve our life long riddle

 

What do you get when you blend a thrill seeker

With a tree huggin' peace keeper?

A slippery slope

And..... frozen hope

You, in your perpetual downhill race

Me, in meditation......... resting in place

 

 

 

 

Edge of the Sky

 

 

On the edge of possible doom

Downhill...post plunge....over

We... shot out of the galactic womb

Think of us as sleek land rovers

 

A hundred miles an hour, ice and snow

Sun and shadow... staving off a crash landing

Where we'll stop no one knows

The sector we are forever scanning

 

Over the edge, our mantra repeating

Next phase of a life in motion perpetual

All our fears we are defeating

This is real, no sitting playing games.... virtual

 

Over the river and beyond the edge

Across the planet, joining in the sky

No more thinking bout jumping off the ledge

Off and running, flying.... alive

 

Those of us who risk the ride

Are the study group in the overall plan

We got no ego, no overblown pride

We signed up for this with the rest of the clan

 

Those of us on the sky's edge, bleeding

are here to show you the way to travel

The edges, the air, the open spaces... receding

Reconnecting the thread as it unravels

 

One day you will stare down over the side

Don your wings as we teach you to fly

Let go of the fear, the foolish pride

Join with us, here....at the edge of the sky
