Mist, you have come again... this time I honored your bad ass. I laid myself down in the damp ground and felt it cover me. I sank into the cool wetness of this ground until I could no longer move, until I was held in the cool stillness of my surrender.
You will return some day when I least expect it again. Bring it on, my wicked friend. You teach me so very much in your visits. Take a long journey away from me, please. Be gone....until the day you must bless me with your stillness again.
Harmony Green's blog! This blog highlights the music and poetic, liquid lyrics of Dan Fogelberg. I listen to a shuffled song on my iPod and write an inspired piece from that. The song is listed under 'labels' at the bottom of each entry. Enjoy!

Leave no physical trace
do I
After my time in the deep embrace
of grasses and tundra and hills
and fields of flowers
In the quiet of the still
In the wisdom of the void
Traces of her touch...
her peace
After she has given so much
so subtly
Just for me
this is what I will take
as I turn the key in the ignition
No suspicion...
only full on fearless clarity
when I leave traces of my
inner trek
in the grasses and the tundra, hills
and flowers
deeply steeped in her Still
Driving home with the windows
open wide
Shedding my grief and my pride
Now fertilizer for the flowers in the field
where the bees land
and pollinate
my traces
do I
After my time in the deep embrace
of grasses and tundra and hills
and fields of flowers
In the quiet of the still
In the wisdom of the void
Traces of her touch...
her peace
After she has given so much

Just for me
this is what I will take
