"Life's Got A Way"

She tilled the soil of her soul preparing a garden for love to grow
The perfect soil placed on top,she waited for the first drops of rain to flow
From the sky, the life giving sky
The life comin from the sky

And the sky got dark but held its rain
She thought she had shed her deeply seeded pain
But life's got a way of keeping you down
And in the rain, you can swim or you can drown
In the rain you can swim or drown

He covered his past with libations and lovely lost ladies, burying it far away
Figurin' it'd get better if he just left it there, keepin the wolves at bay
Running empty and dry, soul dank and blue like the sky
Feelin blue like the sky

And the sky got dark but held its rain
He thought he could hide his deeply seeded pain
But life's got a way of keeping you down
And in the rain, you can swim or you can drown
In the rain you can swim or drown

They tilled and toiled for years on end, taking and leaving lovers now and again
Longing for a connection deeper and wider, a lover that filled the shoes of a fearless friend
Hidin' under the reddened morning sky, the mourning ruddy sky
Morning's mournful sky

And the sky got dark but held its rain
They thought they could live with their deeply seeded pain
But life's got a way of keeping you down
And in the rain, you can swim or you can drown
In the rain you can swim or drown

The clouds brought rain on the day they met, life's great given happenstance
They both felt the power, pulled closer to each other in the spark of a casual glance
Standing open and free in the rain from the sky, the raining, healing sky
The healing rained down from the sky

And the sky got dark letting go its rain
Washing away the stronghold of their life long pain
Cuz life's got a way of comin around
And in the rain, you can grow to be seen and then be found
In the rain you can grow and be found
