Cacophony

Wild... crazy...amazing escapade
Living encumbered in the thick swampy everglades
Like a couple of rebel renegades
Fleeing from the Light Brigade

Afraid of the light, running from the dark
The only way I ever saw you was in the brief elusive spark
you could create whenever you found yourself in 'park'
Still long enough to know your love and speak it in passing remark

Somehow it was enough for me
As the birds squawked in deafening cacophony
I should have known the subtle sign, the defective dichotomy
Our theme...."two halves don't always split evenly"

An epic journey of grand proportion
Feels like our love suffered through an abrupt abortion
We learned the fine art of relationship contortion
In the center ring of the circus full of unspoken emotion

Time to fly away over the old land to new ground
Let us honor and allow the treasure we have found
Released from the rubble.... no longer gagged and bound
Free like the bird who spreads her wings.... homeward bound

Fly away,  my sweet bird soul
For I can not gift the peace you do not yet know
Tis below the surface like the roots of  the oak in sun or snow
Shift into 'park'...create a spark.... illuminate your wisdom whole
